CHANGING LIVES THROUGH ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE EDUCATION

Richard Ferrin, Ph.D., President, Penn Foster Foster CollegeA Message from
Penn Foster College

“I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be community college or a four-year school; vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high school diploma. And dropping out of high school is no longer an option. It‘s not just quitting on yourself, it‘s quitting on your country — and this country needs and values the talents of every American.”
      — President Barack Obama

Regardless of your political view, when President Obama said these words in February, he was right. Without an education beyond high school, the American workforce will be left behind. The economic reality demands educated men and women.

For those of you who are enrolled in a degree program, we take this moment to recognize your investment and your commitment to a better future, and we encourage you to continue to meet your difficult but attainable goals.

For those considering enrollment in PennFosterCollege.edu, we encourage you to get the education you need for the career you want and become a part of the new American workforce.

Sincerely,
Richard W. Ferrin, Ph.D.
President, Penn Foster College

NEW Associate Degree in RETAIL MANAGEMENT

Penn Foster has established a new Associate Degree Program in Retail Management. This degree will provide a solid background in the areas of retail management, finance/accounting, marketing, buying, and merchandising, and give a leg-up in industries such as sales management, store management, and supply chain management. This program will focus on the “ins and outs” of e-commerce, consumer behavior, merchandising, and much more!

According to PayScale.com, as of April 2009, assistant retail store managers made between $32,900 and $46,000 a year. In a shrinking job economy, the best retail management positions will go to those with the most education, training, and experience. Visit the Retail Management website to learn more.
