FACES OF PENN FOSTER

“I have chosen Penn Foster College so I could get an education and have my back injury fixed at the same time. This means that I can do my schoolwork when my schedule allows me to work on it, and I can set a pace of my own. Due to my back injury, I was told that I could no longer do general labor. So I had career testing at Texas Rehabilitation Center to see where my education stood, and it wasn’t good. I was told not to pursue an engineering degree. But, so far, I have proven them all wrong with help from Penn Foster College and its teachers, who, by the way, are very helpful and explain everything in detail. They have also pointed me to some self-help study guides to help me better understand what I am studying.

So far I have achieved a Certificate in manual drafting and in AutoCAD.® I graduated with a 4.0 G.P.A. And now I am working on my Associate Degree in Civil Engineering. At work no one can keep up with my drafting; it takes two people bidding work to keep me busy. I am also maintaining a 3.5 G.P.A. in my studies, and I am very determined to prove the Texas Rehabilitation Center wrong.

So don’t let people discourage you. I am also 44 years old and never thought that I would be doing so well in school (your age means nothing). The only support I have received was first from my beautiful wife, Patricia, and second from Penn Foster College (the teachers and student services).”
